‘Oath taken by the Young Men of Athens’
Commended to us by the retiring Vice Principal of Royal College in the mid 1950s, the Oath has continued to reverberate. “We will never bring disgrace to our city by any act of dishonesty or cowardice; nor ever desert our suffering comrades in ranks. We will fight for the ideals and Sacred things of our Country, both alone and with many…. We will strive unceasingly to quicken the public sense of civic duty and thus in all these ways strive to transmit this city,...greater, better and more beautiful than it was handed to us.”
If you are a true Royalist, you must also be a fine human being.
Many a time we ponder – how can we contribute to the above ideals?
What have we achieved for the Country and its people?
What have we added for the betterment of mankind?
Family tradition:
Defend the defenseless, help the helpless;
Give voice to the voiceless and hope to those without it.
Goodwill to all. Malice to none,
The Courage to always do the correct thing,
Fairness and Equity in all thought, deed and expression.
